Blogstronomy's in the top 20!

I was emailed a couple of days ago by Chris at Wikio, an international news and blog listings website, with their advance blog rankings in the 'science' category for March. It turns out Blogstronomy has made it into the top 20, and will be at number 13* when the rankings are updated for March! That puts us in the same list as some very well known blogs including those from companies such as New Scientist and the BBC, and notable individuals in the world of science blogging like Ben Goldacre and Crispian Jago.

Many, many thanks to all of you for helping Blogstronomy to make this achievement! Particular thanks if you've asked a question that's been answered as the quality of your questions has made a massive impact on the quality of the blog. Please keep them coming!

I'll take this opportunity to remind you that I'm always on the lookout for guest posters on any astronomical theme- opinion or fact-based is fine by me! Just get in touch and let me know your idea.

You can keep up to date with how Blogstronomy is doing in this category at Wikio in the 'links' section of the info bar to the right of this blog, and the actual rankings for March are as follows:

* No, I won't read anything into that number as this is a science blog and there's nothing statistically unlucky about it ;-)

  2. Well done you! I am currently at number 143 for Gastronomy - but that's a massive improvement because I used to be at about 900!

  3. Thanks jenstie!

I would guess that there are a lot more food blogs than astronomy blogs, though, so 143's not bad at all!
